Southeast Wisconsin is boasting a seller’s market in 2021, but a shortage of available new construction is driving some frustration for many potential buyers. Many buyers are quickly reserving beautiful custom homes in The Cottages of Village Green. With homes starting in the $400,000’s, The Cottages neighborhood is quickly approaching “sold out.”

“My vision for The Cottages was to develop homes with upscale architectural designs, quality standard features, and a maintenance-free lifestyle for busy people and those looking to downsize,” shared Doug Stanich, founder and president of the Douglas Kent Real Estate Family of businesses. “I’m thrilled to see the number of people now enjoying their Cottages and strolling through their safe and inviting neighborhoods.”

According to the  Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors, the inventory of available homes in Wisconsin is down 37%, so available houses face stiff competition among buyers. Most listed homes are receiving multiple offers within days and are selling for well-over asking prices.

According to realtors, area homes are also selling faster than this time last year. In March of 2020, homes sold in an average of four months, and in March of 2021, homes sold in two months, with many accepting offers within days or weeks.

“We chose to build in The Cottages at Village Green because we loved the variety of homes and cheerful design of the neighborhood.”

With the market continuing to accelerate, many suggest that potential homeowners buy their homes now before the inventory becomes even more limited.

The Cottages at Village Green offer smart, energy-efficient homes with a variety of floor plans, exterior elevations, and interior design flexibility to provide homeowners with the ability to personalize their maintenance-free, luxury home. With these amenities and the beautiful location nestled in the Village Green, Devonshire & Meadowdale neighborhoods in Pleasant Prairie, there are now less than 30 homes available.

“Our first condo left us feeling isolated and desiring a community that was better designed with more natural light and overall sense of community. We chose to build in The Cottages at Village Green because we loved the variety of homes and cheerful design of the neighborhood. We’re so happy to be part of a friendly neighborhood where some of our old neighbors from Forest Park also chose to downsize,” shared Dr. Terrance and Susan Frantal, owners at The Cottages at Village Green since October 2019.
