In celebration and recognition of the 101st Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote, the Susan B. Anthony Committee, in coordination with the Women’s Fund Committee, is encouraging Kenosha area students to participate in an essay contest!
Students must answer the question: “Last year was a historic year for women in America, with a record number of women elected to Congress, the election of our first female Vice President, and the fifth woman to ever be confirmed to the Supreme Court. These women represent a diversity of views and don’t all agree on
issues. But they all blazed new trails for women. How does having women with different views and from different backgrounds benefit America?”
Essay length is determined by category entry; see guidelines below.
There will be three age-group categories based on the 2020-2021 school year:

The deadline for submissions is Monday, August 16. Winners will be invited to receive their awards on Tuesday, August 24, at the Kenosha County Suffrage Celebration at Twilight Jazz at the Anderson Arts Center, so mark your calendar now to cheer them on!
