Ranger of the Week: Danny Sanicki

Anything you can do; I can do better. One week after his twin brother Steven was named the Kenosha.com Ranger of the Week, Parkside men’s golfer Danny Sanicki led his team to a first-place finish at the MSOE Invite and is this week’s Kensoha.com Ranger of the Week.

Danny finished in a tie for first place individually after shooting an even-par 72 in round one and a 1-under 71 in round two at The Brutes Course at Grand Geneva Resort. He had five birdies in round two, while the rest of his team combined for two that day. As a team, Parkside shot a winning two-day total of 591, edging out Luther College by four shots. It’s the team’s first win under second year head coach Tyler Wollberg, who joined Parkside from Carthage.

Entrepreneurs

Danny and Steven Sanicki are both double-majors in business management with a finance concentration and marketing with a sales certificate. It’s no wonder they decided to go into business together, especially when they were both home in Menomonee Falls over quarantine last spring. The brothers, along with their friends from home, Thomas and Matthew Kirchberger, started a clothing business because “we wanted more real-world experience before we actually got into the real world.”

The business, which cannot be named due to NCAA rules, sells shirts, hats and sweatshirts. While Danny and Steven handle the business and marketing side of things, their friends handle the design aspect of their business. The two like to use Facebook and Instagram for their marketing, and of course, word of mouth.

Catch Parkside Men’s Soccer

The only team that is home for the next two weeks is Parkside men’s soccer, who will battle Northern Michigan at noon Sunday (Oct. 10) at Wood Road Field. Sunday is also Youth Day, where all youth soccer players will get free admission if they are part of a team that is recognized. To gain free admission as part of a youth team, please contact Robyn Elliott elliottr@uwp.edu. The Rangers also welcome in Saginaw Valley State on Friday, Oct. 15 and Northwood on Sunday, Oct. 17.

Experience The Vision

With RangerVision 2020 being a success, it’s now time to Experience The VisionOn Tuesday, Parkside announced that season ticket packages are available for both basketball and wrestling, so be sure to join the Rangers in the newly renovated De Simone Gymnasium, that features two brand-new suite areas, new bleachers with three seating options and two state-of-the-art video boards. Season ticket holders experience many perks as well, which are outlined HERE
