Amazon is leasing a 1,004,400-square-foot distribution center near its existing facility in the City of Kenosha.
Venture One Real Estate began construction on the new building, located east of Gordon Food Service at 10601
38th Street, in fall 2021. Facility launch is expected in early 2023.
Amazon will occupy the entire building to use as a regional distribution center to sort inventory, optimize inventory placement and store inventory to replenish the network. This facility will help support a network that delivers products faster for Amazon’s customers, including same-day delivery.
The project will create up to 400 new jobs. Along with providing access to education and training to help employees grow their careers, Amazon provides comprehensive health benefits, paid time off, up to 20 weeks fully paid parental leave, and more for employees and their families. Jobs are available in hundreds of cities and towns across America. Interested candidates can see all the regions with open positions HERE.
Kenosha Mayor John Antaramian said the City welcomes the expansion of Amazon’s Kenosha operations.
“Amazon has been a wonderful addition to our community,” he said, “and I am pleased to see the new distribution center will add further employment opportunities offering substantial benefits.”
Amazon opened a 1 million-square-foot fulfillment center in Kenosha in 2013, creating more than 1,000 full-time jobs. Since then, it has expanded several times and now employs more than 3,000 at its three facilities in the City of Kenosha.
