Hawthorn Hollow announces 2022 Pike River Concert Series dates, artists

Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum is proud to announce the lineup of the 2022 Pike River Concert Series, presented by Once Upon a Child and supported by The Trottier Insurance Group.

Pike River Benefit Concert Series

Friday, June 17: Git on yer boots! The Empty Bottle Boys and One Shot Jane return to Hawthorn Hollow with their down-home mix of outlaw country, southern rock, and rustic originals. As OnMilwaukee put it, “this five-piece group boasts not only a huge library of songs they cover, they also create original music that sounds so legit that fans assume they belong to someone else.”

Friday, July 22: If you attended our Harvest Hootenanny last fall, you probably were floored by Violet Wilder’s amazing performance. This acoustic folk trio of multi-instrumentalists incorporate piano, acoustic & electric guitar, viola, percussion, and (most importantly) lush 3-part harmonies into their music. See why Daniel Thompson of The Uptown Observer called them “perhaps one of the most lovely bands you’ll ever hear live.”

Friday, August 19: We’re proud to have legendary jam band Cosmic Railroad grace our stage this year. Making music together for over 20 years, the members of this original American roots rock band with a psychedelic twist have played before thousands of people, spreading their infectious grooves far and wide.

The Pike River Benefit Concert Series, presented by Once Upon a Child and supported by The Trottier Insurance Group, has become a SE Wisconsin music staple, showcasing some of the best local groups while helping to support Hawthorn Hollow. While the pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 season, the 2021 season came roaring back last year, raising thousands of dollars to support Hawthorn Hollow’s programs and mission.

Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum is a 50+ acre nature preserve that is free to the public. Since it opened in 1967, Hawthorn Hollow has focused on education, offering field trip opportunities to local schools as well as adult and family classes and workshops in a wide variety of disciplines, from crafting to cooking. Hawthorn Hollow’s sister property, the Ozanne Outpost, has also become a popular event venue and conference center. Visit Hawthornhollow.org for more information about upcoming events and experiences.

All shows start at 6 p.m. in the Hawthorn Hollow Amphitheater, with gates opening at 5 p.m. Admission is $10 per person at the gate. Food and beverages such as soda, wine, and craft beer will be available for purchase, as will produce from the Heritage Farmstead at Hawthorn Hollow (while supplies last).

The Pike River Benefit Concert Series, presented by Once Upon a Child and supported by the Trottier Insurance Group, is sponsored in part by: Equinox Botanical Boutique, Mindful Yoga, Peacetree Originals, Kessler’s Clock Co., Stein’s Aircraft Services, Impact Networking, Design Partners Inc., and Creative Design Custom Signs.
