Night Hike at Hawthorn Hollow

Night Hike

Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum, 880 Green Bay Rd.

Naturalist Kailyn Daum will lead a hike through the night woods. Learn all about the adaptations nocturnal creatures have developed to survive and thrive when the sun goes down, gaze in awe at the night sky, and listen to the songs that fill the woods and fields after dark. This 60-minute outdoor  program is for families and adults (kids under 3 are free).

Registration and tickets required, $11.50 including fees, ages 3 and under free.

Downtown Kenosha Small Business Bunny Hop

Saturday (April 9)

10-1 p.m. Downtown Kenosha

At each participating business, kids can collect a candy-filled egg, adults receive an egg with a surprise special offer inside. Eggs available while supplies last. The Lakefront Trolley will offer free rides on the event route during the event’s hours and electric streetcars will offer free rides during normal Saturday hours: 10:35 a.m.-6:15 p.m. An event map listing participating merchants is available here.

Globe at Night Live

Globe at Night, 8:30-9:30 p.m., Simmons Library Park, 711 59th Pl., This international citizen science project involves the public measuring and collecting night sky brightness observations.This outdoor program will be held the following night if cloud cover is more than 40% at dusk. Behind the Scenes Tour of Simmons Library, 2:30-3:30 p.m., 711 59th Pl. Learn about the history of this beautiful building. Due to the historic nature of the Simmons Library, the building is not equipped with a ramp for entrance. This event requires the use of a spiral staircase. Registration required.
