For the fifth consecutive year, Kenosha School of Technology Enhanced Curriculum (KTEC) has been recognized as a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Distinguished School for both its Launch and Gateway programs for 2021-22.
The school announced the honors in a recent press release.
PLTW is a nonprofit organization that serves millions of PreK-12 students and teachers in schools across the U.S.
KTEC has both a PLTW Launch and PLTW Gateway program. It’s one of 282 PLTW Launch programs and one of 134 PLTW Gateway programs across the country to receive recognition for 2021-22.
According to the release, the recognition means KTEC is “committed to helping students own their education by increasing student access, engagement and achievement” in their programs.
To be eligible for PLTW Launch Program recognition this year, schools must have offered at least one PLTW Launch module in each grade (K-5) and had at least 75 percent of students participate in at least one PLTW Launch module during the 2020-21 school year
To be eligible or PLTW Gateway Program recognition this year, schools must have offered at least one PLTW Gateway unit in each grade (6-8), had at least 50 percent of students participate in one PLTW Gateway module during the 2020-21 school year and had at least 25 percent of students participate in two or more PLTW Gateway units during their tenure at the school.
