Pop-up Biergarten to make its Kenosha debut Thursday through Saturday

A variety of beer, food trucks and live music is headed to Kenosha’s lakefront for the three-day Pop-up Biergarten Thursday through Saturday (June 16-18) at HarborPark’s Celebration Place, 5501 Ring Road.

The free event takes place 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon to 9 p.m. Saturday. Visitors can register online to win free raffle prizes or purchase an authentic 1-liter German drinking boot (beer included) for $24.

Curt Foreman, president and owner of BrewFest Partners, organized the event. The Racine native was responsible for bringing the Border War Beer Fest to Kenosha and helped relocate the popular Great Lakes Brew Fest from Racine to the Kenosha lakefront.

Previously held in Mount Pleasant, Indiana and Florida, the BrewFest Pop-up Biergarten is primed for its Kenosha debut.

“It’s such a great location right on the Kenosha lakefront,” Foreman said. “We’re expecting a really nice crowd.”

The event features traditional German beer, craft beer, wine and ciders in addition to a full slate of area food trucks from 4 to 8 p.m each day (schedule below). Live music is provided by the The Twin Lakes Trio on Thursday, Duosonic on Friday and Listening Party Live on Saturday.

Visitors are encouraged to sign up for a stein-hoisting competition at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Riki Tagliapietra, owner of Cut Stone Foods, is one of several local food truck operators participating in the event. The unique wood-fired pizza/fire truck serves its popular Okie-Dokie Artichokie pizza, along with a traditional variety of pizzas on Thursday and Friday.

“Cut Stone Foods is excited to kick off the summer festival season with our homemade, wood-fired pizzas right on the Kenosha lakefront,” Tagliapietra said. “We’re looking forward to enjoying all of the wonderful beer, food, music and fun.”

The Pop-up Biergarten hits Lake Andrea in Pleasant Prairie on July 14-16. For more information, visit HERE.
