AVP Kenosha Aviation FBO will host this National Air Tour of Historic World War II Aircraft. Cockpit tours and rides available to the public all five days. Aircraft include: B-29 Superfortress FIFI, B-24 Liberator Diamond Lil, T-6 Texan and Boeing Stearman. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 ages 11-17, free for 10 and under (must be accompanied by an adult). Additional fees apply for rides.

Pike River Concert Series at Hawthorn Hollow

Pike River Concert Series – Violet Wilder

Acoustic folk trio performs on multiple instruments in this concert series which supports Hawthorn Hollow.

Chalk Fest at Jerry Smith Farm

Chalk Fest

8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (July 23-24)

Jerry Smith Pumpkin and Produce Farm, 7150 18th St.

This inaugural event includes chalk walk and voting, live music, beer garden, grilled food, artisan booths, and shopping in the Country Store. 

People’s Choice judging begins at 3:30 p.m. Saturday and ends 5 p.m. Sunday. Voting is paperless via QR code. Winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The event will be held rain or shine. Free.

Lakeside Lounge, a pop-up music series, is held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at Kemper Center, 6501 Third Avenue. The free event continues on July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 7.

Observe and unlock the mysteries of the sun and moon, directly and indirectly, with shadows, telescopes and solar filters. Learn the importance of the Earth-Sun-Moon arrangement and how to see prominent features of the moon. All ages; adults or families welcome. 

Sunday Story Time with special guest storyteller Alicia Boemi, author of “The Mailboat Dog,” 11 a.m., Blue House Books, 5915 6th Ave. A. Boemi will have a kids activity and will bring her dog Izzy. This story takes you on a journey aboard America’s oldest Mailboat that, with the help of mail jumpers, has delivered mail for over 100 years. One brave canine is ready to prove that she has what it takes to beat the odds and officially become The Mailboat Dog.
