Ranger of the Week: Sean Sodaro

On Wednesday, March 22, the Parkside baseball team defeated Lakeland University, 6-2, to earn their sixth win of the season. The game got off to a close start, with the Muskies holding a 1-0 lead after the second inning. The Rangers first-year head coach Zac Charbonneau made the decision to go to the bullpen early, bringing in senior right-hander Sean Sodaro, our Kenosha.com Ranger of the Week.

Sodaro, a Park Ridge, Ill., native, came in to the game in the third inning and was electric for the Rangers. The senior threw seven innings in relief and allowed just one run, on four hits with no walks and five strikeouts. He earned the win and improved to 2-1 on the year.

Sodaro grew up playing baseball, starting when he was just five years old. His parents gave him the opportunity to explore numerous other sports growing up, allowing him to gain experience in soccer, basketball, football, hockey, swimming, and cross country. Baseball was always Sean’s favorite, so he chose to continue to play at the collegiate level. Sean’s brother, Brian, also competed at the collegiate level as he ran cross country and track & field at Illinois State University.

Sodaro is currently studying accounting and finance, and he plans to pursue an accounting career following his time at Parkside. On the baseball field, he hopes to stay healthy for the remainder of the season and compete at his highest level to help the Rangers win.

The Rangers return to action 3 p.m. Wednesday as they travel to Romeoville, Ill., to take on the Lewis University Flyers. For more information, visit parksiderangers.com.
