Ranger of the Week: Haley Remington

On Saturday, April 8, the Parkside softball team traveled to Big Rapids, Mich., and came home with a pair
of crucial wins over Ferris State. Leading the Rangers to victory was Haley Remington, our Kenosha.com Ranger of the Week!

Remington, a native of Elkhorn, went on an offensive tear in Saturday’s doubleheader. In the opener, Remington went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in a 10-2 victory. She would then repeat her 3-for-4 effort in the second game, collecting an RBI and two more runs scored in an 8-2 victory.

The sophomore center fielder is batting a team-high .346 with one home run, six RBI and eight runs scored.

Following in the footsteps of her older siblings, Remington started playing softball when she was eight years old. Haley, who also competed in wrestling and basketball growing up, is the second member of her family to play softball at the collegiate level. Her sister, Brittany, played at Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Remington is majoring in sport management with a minor in visual and digital production. She hopes to one day work for the National Basketball Association or Major League Baseball. On the field, Remington hopes to keep playing at a high level and help her team bring home a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference championship.

The Rangers return to action today as they travel to Hammond, Ind., for a doubleheader against Purdue Northwest Pride. For more information, visit parksiderangers.com.
