Safe Harbor/Kenosha.com Pet of the Week: Melisandre

Melisandre is a 1.5-year-old medium mixed breed who is a ball of energy. She has SO much run in her that she could easily run for three hours.

Unfortunately, she also has a luxating patella, so she doesn’t actually get to run for that long. A luxating patella, sometimes called a trick knee, is a condition in which the patella, or kneecap, dislocates or moves out of its normal location. She doesn’t let that stop her bright and sunny disposition, though.

She LOVES hanging out with her friends. She doesn’t like sharing her food so she will need to eat alone. She is opinionated in the best kind of ways. Ask her what favorite movie is, and she will talk your ear off for 10 minutes.

Melisandre is available for adoption with an adoption fee of $299 plus tax, but with Safe Harbor’s “Spring Them Out Adoption Incentive,” her adoption fee is 50% off, making it $149.50. If you would like to meet her, please fill out an application online HERE or stop by the Safe Harbor Humane Society, 7811 60th Ave.
