What: Kenosha County Veterans Day Celebration and Resource Fair
When: Saturday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. to noon. Doors open to the public at 8:30 a.m.
Where: Kenosha County Job Center, 8600 Sheridan Road, Kenosha
Note: Breakfast will be served at 9:30. A resource fair available throughout the morning will include a wide variety of veteran service providers and community resources. Gateway student barbers will also be providing free haircuts.
What: Village of Pleasant Prairie Veterans Day Ceremony
When: Sunday, Nov. 5, 1:30 p.m.
Where: Pleasant Prairie Veterans Memorial on the southeast side of Prairie Springs Park, 9900 Terwall Terrace, Pleasant Prairie
Note: Light refreshments will be served.
What: Gateway Technical College Veterans Honor Dinner and other Veterans Day activities When: Tuesday, Nov. 7, 5 to 7 p.m.
Where: Kenosha Campus, 3520 30th Avenue, Kenosha
Note: A casual dinner will be served along with a speech from Zach Zdroik of Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin and presentation of the Bryan Albrecht Award. Other Gateway activities for Veterans Day include a Veterans Cut-A-Thon from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov 13, at Gateway’a Salons, and a “Thank You for Your Service” movie viewing at noon Wednesday, Nov. 22 at the Kenosha Campus Veterans Club. What: UW-Parkside Veterans Week
When: Nov. 9-15, with Opening Night Reception Monday, Nov 9 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Where: UW-Parkside, Brookwood Foundation Main Place in Wyllie Hall, 900 Wood Rd, Kenosha
Note: “Working Warriors” will be on display from 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 through 4:30 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 15, in Main Place (Wyllie Hall), with the opening reception on Nov 9. The WI Wrestling Showcase on Saturday, Nov. 11, is also open to the public; veterans just need to self-identify at the door for free VIP admission. The Showcase features UW-Parkside vs. McKendree University and UW-La Crosse vs. Cornell College. These will be concurrent matches, featuring two live mats in the De Simone arena.

When: Saturday, Nov. 11, 9:30 a.m. to noon. Flanders Field Ceremony at 10:15; Rendering of Honors at 11 a.m. sharp. Coffee and doughnuts will be served before the ceremony, with a light lunch starting at 11:15 a.m.

When: Saturday, Nov. 11, 10 a.m.
Where: Start/finish in downtown Lyons, Wis. (White River Trail)
Note: Distances include 10k and Half Marathon at 10 a.m.; 5k run/walk at 10:15 a.m.
Event is free with advance registration at www.XCThrillogy.com. Online signup closes Nov.10. Same-day registration will begin at 9:00 and will cost $10.
What: Civil War Museum and Navy Club Ship 40 Veterans Day Celebration
When: Saturday, Nov. 11, 11 a.m. At noon, The Woodwind Quintet ”Fairwinds” from Navy Band Great Lakes will perform.
Where: 5400 First Ave., Kenosha.
Note: Navy Club Ship 40 will present a program representing all branches of service to commemorate Veterans Day. Plus, the Civil War Museum will offer free admission for veterans and active-duty military, on Nov. 11. For more information, please call the Civil War Museum at 262-653-4141.

Note: VFW Post 1865 will be hosting a variety of events on Veterans Day, kicking off with a Veterans Ceremony. A beef stew lunch will be provided by the post, followed by a flag retirement ceremony at 1 p.m.
