Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman is inviting the public to join in a celebration this
Friday, Dec. 1, to mark the lighting of new county Christmas tree in Petrfiying Springs Park.
The festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. near the Petrifying Springs Biergarten on the south end of the park, near the Highway JR entrance.
The Biergarten will be open beginning at 3 p.m., selling German mulled wine and beer. Hot
chocolate stations will also be available and the Frites on the Streets food truck will be selling
bowls of chili and chili fries.
Before and after the lighting of the tree, an ornament decorating station will be available for kids
and families, as well as photo opportunities with Santa Claus.
“We look forward to this becoming an annual tradition at Petrifying Springs Park,” Kerkman
said. “Come out and join us for some holiday cheer in our beautiful park.”
Petrifying Springs Park is located at 5555 Seventh St. in the Village of Somers.
