Annual donation campaign underway at Community State Bank

UNION GROVE – Community State Bank has launched its seventh annual #Gift2Giving employee-driven donation drive.

Since its 2018 inception, the campaign has distributed over $90,000 to nearly 70 nonprofit organizations throughout Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties.

Community State Bank hand-delivered over $16,000 in donations last year.

“Our staff gets really excited about this campaign every year,” said CSB President and CEO, Scott Huedepohl.

“It’s interesting to see where they choose to invest their funds. We learn about organizations right here in our backyard that we may not have had the opportunity to learn about otherwise.”

Community State Bank gives each of its employees $150 to donate to a nonprofit organization of their choice. In addition to the bank-provided funds, Community State Bank matches any employee donation up to $150.

Last year, seven Community State Bank employees donated to the Walworth County Food and Diaper Bank. In addition, the branch hosted a diaper drive in its lobby to support the local nonprofit.

“Our staff, not only in Lake Geneva, but the entire Community State Bank group, we all love our communities that we work and serve,” Community State Bank Senior VP Market President Mike Ploch said.

“To be able to do things like this is just meaningful to us that we can touch so many lives.”

In Kenosha, Laura Burnett-Shoemaker, VP Cash Management at Community State Bank, teamed up with 10 of her coworkers to support 1HOPE. The nonprofit helps local foster children and their families.

“I think what I love most about 1HOPE is that they help people who are helping people,” Burnett-Shoemaker said. “They are truly paying it forward.”

Teri Eulgen, a Retail Manager at Community State Bank, joined nine coworkers last year to support the Racine County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit.

“I know there’s a lot of good causes within the community,” said Racine County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Joseph Patla after receiving last year’s donation. “We’re very humbled (Community State Bank) thought of us.”

Community State Bank plans to share all its donation stories and its community impact at CSB.bank/gift2giving and on CSB’s social media channels.
