Peralta Family Named BGC Sports Family of the Year for 2024

Kenosha, WI – February 6, 2025 – Each year, BGC Sports—the athletic arm of the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha—honors a family that exemplifies dedication, leadership, and a passion for bettering the lives of youth through sports. The 2024 BGC Sports Family of the Year is Peter Peralta, his wife Michelle, and their children—Olliver (8), Owen (5), Orion (3), Oakslee (1), and a baby girl on the way.

Coach Peter Peralta has been an influential mentor and coach for many years, dedicating his time to coaching soccer, basketball, football, and baseball while actively volunteering within BGC Sports programs. His coaching philosophy is built on the belief that “If you can believe it, you can achieve it.”

“Truly believing anything is possible subconsciously unlocks one’s potential. It feeds into their motivation to ‘want’ to participate,” said Peralta. “As a coach, I strive to instill confidence, emotional intelligence, and tenacity in every child. It’s important for them to know they have support and that someone truly believes in them. The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha provides that environment—where every kid and their family, no matter who they are or where they come from, have access to opportunities that help them grow.”

The Peralta family’s unwavering commitment to the Club and its mission has made a lasting impact, not just on the youth they coach and mentor but on the entire BGC Kenosha community.

BGC Kenosha CEO Tara Panasewicz praised the Peralta family’s contributions, stating:

“The Peralta family truly embodies what it means to be champions for youth. Coach Peralta’s dedication, encouragement, and belief in the potential of every young athlete reflect the very heart of what BGC Sports is all about. We are honored to recognize their family for their unwavering support, leadership, and commitment to creating a positive and inclusive sports environment for all.”

The Peralta family will be recognized at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 20th. Community members are invited to join in celebrating their contributions, along with other key achievements and milestones from the past year. The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha is grateful for families like the Peralta’s, who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of young athletes. Their passion and dedication help ensure that BGC Sports continues to be a place where kids can learn, grow, and thrive—both on and off the field.
