Karen l. Kushman, 78, formerly of Kenosha, late of Racine, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Ridgewood Care Center.
She was born on May 26, 1942 to the late Julius and Margaret (Thomka) Matolek Jr. in Kenosha. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha.
Karen formerly worked as a buyer for Hein’s in Waukegan and the Lakehurst store for many years.
Karen was a past treasurer of different groups and agencies of Kenosha. She was a member and past treasurer of the Order of the Eastern Star #92. Karen was also a member of Diver Dan’s water classes.
Karen loved to travel and see different countries for herself. She was also known for her baking, card playing and was an avid reader.
Karen is survived by her son Frank (Therese) Kushman Jr. of Wheaton, IL, her daughter Debra Kushman of St. Charles, IL, grandson Patrick M. Kushman of Wheaton, IL, brother Julius (Billie) Matolek III of Aurora, IL, niece Casey Matolek of Aurora, IL and nephews Julius Matolek IV and Jackson Matolek.
She is preceded in death by a son Steven.
A Celebration of Life for Karen will be held on Friday, April 23rd at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Bruch Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
