Sergio F. Elia, 73, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at his residence.
He was born on April 15, 1948 to the late Mariano and Ascunda (Ziccarelli) Elia in Cosenza, Calabria, Italy. He was educated in Italy.
On November 24, 1973 he married Amelia Lucchetta at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on September 23, 1988.
Sergio worked on the Assembly Line for AMC/Chrysler for 30 years and was a member of the UAW Local #72. Sergio also owned and operated Sergio’s Pizza for many years.
Sergio loved bowling and won the Kenosha News Super Senior Championship in 2019. He enjoyed cooking and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Most of all he loved his granddaughters.
Sergio is survived by his children Joe (Sara) Elia of Scottsdale, AZ, Dario (Erica) Elia of Shorewood, WI, Melissa (Mark) Esposito of North Branford, CT and Alana Elia, his granddaughters Ansley Elia, Lily and Adeline Esposito and his siblings Mirella, Adolfo and Ramondo.
He is preceded in death by a grandson Dominic Esposito.
Funeral Services for Sergio will be held on Friday, June 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
