Johnathon Nordquist, 60 of Seaside OR, formerly of Kenosha WI passed away on Tuesday June 1, 2021 in Astoria Oregon.
John was born on November 2, 1960 in Cleveland OH to Eric Nordquist and Beverly (Nordquist) Owens. His early formative years were in Cleveland, OH then to Chicago, IL suburbs. John was dedicated to the Hare Krishna Hindu religion throughout his life. John married Gay (Abe) Nordquist in 1997 and became a loving stepfather to 4 children then had 2 sons of his own. They later divorced but kept a caring relationship. John moved to Astoria Oregon shortly afterwards where he fell in love with the ocean and scenery.
John had the propensity to work with technology and pass on his computer knowledge as he enjoyed helping others in this field. His career life held lead Computer Administrative positions with companies such as Kinko’s, Xerox, OCE Siemens and as the Director of Technology for the Zion School District where he put the district online for the first time. Through his work he was able to give his family the pleasure of enjoyable vacations, plenty of dining out and helping those in need. John was very involved with the children’s education and after school activities as he assisted coaching the baseball teams, major school events and fund raising as well as chaperoning many field trips. John loved engaging with the family in
spiritually deep or silly fun conversations or making popcorn and bunkering down with the kids to watch a movie.
Everyone who knew John would laud him for his quick wit, extreme intelligence, sense of humor and especially his very kind heart. He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly by his family and those close to him.
John is survived by his mother Beverly (aka Alex) Owens) of OR, brothers Karl Nordquist of OR,
Mark (Heidi) Nordquist IL, sister’s Michelle (Terri) Monical AR, Danielle (Mar) Owens. Daughter’s
Virginia Lodygowski IL, Kishori (Michael) Lodygowski WI, son’s, Michael (Krystal) Lodygowski WI,
Marshall Lodygowski WI, Adam Nordquist WI, Tom Nordquist WI, Grandsons, Michael Jr., Ryker, Frank, Phoenix, Leo, Noah, Elliott and beloved nephews and nieces.
John is preceded in death by his father Eric Nordquist, stepfather Ralph Owens, his brother Mathew Nordquist and maternal and paternal grandparents.
A celebration of life gathering will take place on Saturday July 17, 2021 at Kenosha Funeral Services from 10:00AM-1:00PM.
