Germaine I. Brennan, 92, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the Legacy of St. Joseph’s.
She was born on November 23, 1928 to the late John and Isabelle (Strobel) Hesprich in Fond du Lac, WI. She was raised in Lomira, WI and graduated from Lomira High School in 1947.
On August 29, 1953 she married Arthur G. Brennan in Lomira, WI. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2017.
She attended Wisconsin State College in Milwaukee studying to be a teacher and was a substitute teacher in Kenosha while raising her eight children. Germaine later attended Gateway Technical College to become a florist. She worked at Sentry Foods in the floral department for many years.
Germaine was a devote Catholic and was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church.
Germaine loved gardening and preserving her harvest, taking walks with her husband in the garden, making floral arrangements, dancing in the living room to Lawrence Welk, playing cards (winning most of the time), keeping in touch with her many relatives, and traveling with her family, but most of all she loved having the whole family together for all the holidays.
Germaine is survived by her children Cynthia (Terry) Christiansen, Thomas Brennan, Raymond (Jody) Brennan, Suzanne (Douglas) Blechinger, Elizabeth (David) Lee, Patrick (Rhonda) Brennan, Edward (Joanna) Brennan and Debora (Tom) Sielski, 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with one on the way. She is further survived by her sisters Dorothy Becker and Louise Held, brother Tony Hesprich, sister-in-law Hester “Sue” Mazzotti, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Raymond Hesprich and Francis Hesprich and sisters Catherine Hemmrich, Rita Grusnick and Joan Krofta and brothers-in-law Ray Brennan, Larry Brennan, John “Jack” Brennan and Harry Brennan.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Germaine will be held on Friday, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church (2020 – 91st St.). Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of Mass. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Sacred Heart Southern Mission.
