Frances Kay (Thompson) Kauzrich, age 80, peacefully passed away in her home on Saturday, October 23, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Born on August 27, 1941 in Clintonville, WI, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Davison) and Harvey Thompson. On June 30, 1979, Fran was married to the love of her life, Fred Kauzrich. They spent fifty-three years by each other’s side.
She tended bar at various locations in her life, but her favorite was working alongside Fred, at Freddie’s Bar in Kenosha. They retired in 1991 and headed straight to the North woods of Wisconsin, to their cottage on the Wisconsin River. Their time on the river was spent with much family and friends.
Fran was always able to find the good in people, no matter what. It was through her bartending days that she was able to really shine. She was an avid reader who also loved doing crossword puzzles. Fran’s love for animals was abundant. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her daughter, Kim. Fran loved spending time with her family and was a proud grandma. Her granddaughters Kristy and Kelly were special to her, as they spent much time together. Whether it was cheering on the boys at their games, or traveling to Las Vegas for her “Kiley Kay’s” birthdays each year she loved the moments surrounded by her family. She was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. Fran will be greatly missed.
Frances is missed and survived by her daughter, Kim (Greg) Graff; her step-children, Tom (Judy) Kauzrich, Fred Kauzrich, Patti (Randy) Michael, Ron Kauzrich and Kathy Reid; her siblings, Terry (Kathy) Thompson, Curt Thompson, Jerry (Dolores) Thompson, Larry (Penny Stueck) Thompson, Sandee Thompson, Rhonda (Jeff Laux) Havelick, Kelly (Kevin Connolly) Thompson, and her numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
