Dorothy E. (Becker) Kamm, age 91, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Born on November 27, 1929 in Athens, WI, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Augusta (Krumm) Becker. She grew up attending local schools.
On August 20, 1949, Dorothy was united in marriage to William Kamm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kenosha. They shared 63 years of marriage before William passed away in 2012. After moving to Brighton, WI in 1968, they joined Christ Lutheran Church in Paddock Lake.
After her youngest son became a full-time student, she took a part-time job at Regal China in Antioch. Dorothy never missed a day of work. Seeing all of her friends was the highlight of her day. She retired after 19 years, only because the factory closed.
She dabbled in arts and crafts and found that was not her cup of tea. But she definitely had a green thumb. She canned and pickled everything from her garden. Her specialty was “pickled beets”. Dorothy was the best cook a family could have. She made a mean roast beef, and an apple pie that was “the bomb”. If you ever saw a car in Kenosha County with license plates that read “The Hen”, it was Dorothy.
Affectionately known as “Mother Hen” she will be sadly missed by her children, Willow K. Pivovar, Joleen J. Bartlett, Brenda (Petar) Zekovic, Uv K. Kamm, William O. Kamm, Clifford (Debbie) Kamm; her grandchildren, Olivia (Sam) Drake, Thomas (Amanda) Bartlett, Alexandra (Adam) Kamm, William K. Kamm, Kody (Taylor) Kamm, Emily J. Kamm, Petar S. Zekovic; her great-grandchildren, Karmine, Gia and Avry Kamm, Nell and Jack Bartlett, Jaxton Kamm.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings, Leroy Clarence Becker, Ruth Ann McDonald, William Adolph Becker, Bernice Louise Schneider, Isabella Adeline Mattson, Otto Carl Becker, Arlene Adeline Baltes, and her sweet granddaughter, Jennifer Bartlett.
