Gordon Wheeler, age 75, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 at his residence in Pleasant Prairie.
Born on April 7, 1946 in Appleton, he was the son of the late Valentine and Vera (Schmackle) Wheeler. He grew up attending local schools and was a graduate of Kaukauna High School.
Gordon proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1976, during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Communication Equipment Technician at the Fleet Training Center.
Over the years, he worked at Six Flags Great America, opened a shop that provided ultrasonic cleaning for blinds, and worked with his sister, Diane Schoen fabricating and installing custom draperies.
Gordon did his own thing and had a very dry sense of humor. He loved to play darts and horse shoes, also loved the Green Bay Packers. One of his favorite destinations was the cottage at Middle Inlet, Wisconsin. He truly loved time spent at the cottage.
He will be missed by his sisters, Diane Schoen of Pleasant Prairie, and Geraldine (Daniel) Van de Loo of Shawano; his nephew, Todd Michael Schoen of Pleasant Prairie; his niece, Kristine (Kevin) Walker of Muskego; his step-children, Roger Stewart of IL and Gwendolyn Stewart of TX; his step-sisters, Diane DeBruin of Appleton, WI, Barbara DeBruin and Rebecca (Bernie) Ksinonek of Port Edwards, WI and several additional nieces and nephews in Port Edwards, Shawano and Appleton, WI.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by his brother, Todd Richard Wheeler.
