Vernal Equinox Night Hike

7-8:30 p.m. Friday (March 18)

This self-guided, candlelit night hike begins at the nature center and celebrates the beginning of spring. Registration is required, Tickets $6.

UW-Parkside Jazz Week

Bedford Concert Hall at The Rita, Parkside Campus

Remaining concerts this week include: Joshua Abrams Natural Information Society, The Bad Plus, Parkside Jazz Faculty, Parkside Jazz Ensemble with special guests from area high schools. Tickets range from free to $10.

Medical Weekend at the Civil War Museum

Medical Weekend

10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday (March 19) and noon-4 p.m. Sunday (March 20)

Civil War Museum, 5400 1st Ave.

Join the 17th Corps Field Hospital, the largest Civil War Medical unit in the Midwest, for activities and demonstrations including surgical demonstrations, instruments, Interactive displays including “Touch the Artifacts,” learning about the roles of  professionals from pharmacists to nurses and even undertakers, as well as how diseases impacted the troops. Free.
