Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Lawton, OK Vicki graduated from Lawton High School in 1963. She always knew she wanted to be a registered nurse and graduated from John Peter Smith School of Nursing of Ft. Worth, TX in 1967. She specialized in labor and delivery and worked for over forty-five years helping to bring babies into the world. In her prime Vicki was very physically active. She could be found most weekends either playing tennis, sailing, bicycling, taking rides on her motorcycle, or taking church trips river rafting. She was active in her community and found sisterhood in Beta Sigma Phi women’s sorority. Vicki always had a book in hand and loved to read.
Vicki was also an avid seamstress and loved to decorate. She spent many summers visiting with members of her extended family to wallpaper their homes. While there she would make curtains, drapes, and install shelving units in closets. She was mechanically inclined and could manage almost any home project. She fully stripped and restored an upright piano so that her girls could take piano lessons on it. She also loved knit and crotchet.
Vicki settled in Southern California and spent the last 32 years of her life there. She was able to watch her grandchildren grown up and her family was everything to her. Over the last ten years Vicki traveled and loved visiting family and friends for extended periods of time. Her family and friends were her life.
