Day of the Dead is a joyful Mexican holiday that combines observance of All Souls Day with a festive remembrance of lost ancestors. The celebration will include live music and art exhibitions, including a community mural display and a sugar skull decorating contest and exhibit, plus food and drink vendors. Activities include a Community Ofrenda, a pumpkin carving exhibit, sugar skulls and cookie decoration. Traditional Mexican food including, pozole, tamales, champurrado, elotes, pan de muerto and more. This year’s event will feature an increased emphasis on authentic Mexican music. Festivities will be on the grounds and alley between 56th and 57th Streets.

Acrylics International Biennial Exhibition, Kenosha Public Museum, 5500 1st Ave. This inaugural exhibition spotlights 45 paintings demonstrating the variety of subjects, styles, and techniques possible in the acrylic medium, and the diversity and skill of the featured artists.
