Ilene Lee Gregory, age 65, of Twin Lakes, WI, died at home on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Daughter of the late Millard “Ed” Wilson and Carol Young, Ilene was born on November 2, 1957, in Chicago, IL. She was united in marriage to John C. Gregory on February 16, 1980, in Milwaukee. Ilene held several different jobs during her life, but most importantly she was a homemaker and mother. Ilene lived for her family and was an exceptional daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. A kind and generous woman, Ilene’s purpose in life was bettering the lives of others. When her kids were growing up, many of their friends called her “mom,” and they loved to spend time at the Gregory house. In her free time, she was an avid reader and enjoyed many favorite television shows. She especially liked romance novels and the Golden Girls.
Ilene is survived by her children, Perry Gregory, John (Megan) Gregory II., and Christine Gregory; grandchildren, John III, Austin, Devan, Jasmine, Landon, and Autumn; siblings, Debra (Floyd “Junior”) Bowling, Scott (Nancy Santiago) Wilson, and sister-in-law Debra Meherg; step-mom, Marlene Wilson; Uncle Jimmy (Sandy) Young; several other aunts and uncles, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In death, she is reunited with her beloved husband of 32 years, John; mother Carol Young; father Millard Wilson; brother, David Wilson; and mother-in-law, Clara Gregory.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr., Twin Lakes, WI 53181. Following visitation, a memorial service will be held at 5:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Ilene’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.
