John J. Meyers, 93, of Trevor, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Grande Prairie Health & Rehab.
He was born on October 1, 1929 to the late John J. and Magdalene (Schlitz) Meyers in Brighton, WI. He was educated in Brighton.
John entered the US Navy in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955.
On June 13, 1959 he married Margaret T. Kolnik at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church in Paris. She preceded him in death on March 4, 2003.
John owned and operated Meyer’s Auto for many years, working as a mechanic.
John was a member of Holy Cross of Wilmot.
John loved gardening, crossword puzzles, reading the Readers Digest, watching old westerns, keeping up with current events and was a jack-of-all-trades.
John is survived by his daughters Helen (the late John Perry) Siferd, Virginia (Roddie) Torgerson and Barbara Newman, his grandchildren Michael Newman, Amy (The late NickMiller (Jon Eldridge), Heather (Casey Svendsen) Siferd, Cassandra (Caitlyn) Torguin and Cameo Torgerson, his great grandchildren Jayden and Trace Miller, Penelope and Calliope Torguin, his siblings Kenny Meyers, Ray Meyers, Lucy Ambrose, Dorothea Ehlen, Kathy Howe, Joan Nield, Mary Schoenberg, Jeanie Leffelman and Geraldine Ehlen, sister-in-law Judy Meyers and brothers-in-law Joe (Vicky) Kolnik, Tony (Terry) Kolnik and John Kolnik.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Theresa Meyers, three brothers Don Meyers, Clarence Meyers and Robert (Dorothy) Meyers, sisters-in-law Nancy Meyers and Kathy Meyers.
Funeral Services for John will be held on Monday, June 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Wilmot Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
