Melissa Rios, 48, of Kenosha passed away on January 14, 2021 at St. Catherine’s hospital in Kenosha WI. She was surrounded by her loving family & friends as she made her journey into God’s kingdom. She was born on September 12, 1972 in Illinois, the daughter of William and Eleanor (Burt) Stadel. She was educated in the schools of Gurnee, IL. Melissa married the love of her life Ricardo Rios on February 27, 2001 in Waukegan, IL. They had a beautiful marriage and in her final days remarked “it was one people dream of having.” Together, they had seven beautiful children who spent their days laughing and loving one another.
In her earlier year was employed as bus driver and office administrator for nursing homes. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Grayslake, IL. Melissa’s hobbies included going out for coffee with her friends, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Ricardo Rios of Kenosha; children, Jacqueline (Casey) Taylor of Kenosha, Rikki Clemons of IL, Jason Tipton of Kenosha, Michael Rios of IL, Joshua Tipton of Kenosha, Justin Tipton of Kenosha and Anthony Rios of Kenosha; mother, Eleanor Stadel of Kenosha; brother, Brian (Debbie) Stadel of IL; also included are her grandchildren Lincoln, Brielle
Carter, Declan, Cameron, and Denver.
Melissa was preceded in death by her father, William Stadel.
A celebration of life will be held at the VFW in Kenosha WI on January 30, 2021. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Should you want to send flowers please have them delivered to the VFW by 11:00 a.m. on January 30, 2021.
