Ronald W. Schumacher, 77, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Kenosha, on August 30, 1943, he was the son of the late Wendell and Elsie (Thorne) Schumacher. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools.
On November 24, 1962, he married Marie Ciesielski at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
He was employed with USPS as a postal clerk for 33 years and retired in 2001. After retirement, he worked for the Kenosha County Parks Department for five years.
Ron was an avid gardener, and meticulously manicured his lawn which was beautiful, he loved fishing, and was an avid White Sox, Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers fan. The thing that delighted him most, was his grandchildren.
Surviving Ron is his loving wife of 58 years, Marie; three children, Kimberly (Phil Lorum) Strangberg, Katherine (Bryan) Knapp, and Michael (Lindsay) Schumacher; seven grandchildren, Nicholas (Courtney), Eric, Ryan, Daniel (Hailey), Alanna, Abigail, and Jackson; a great-grandson, Alexzander; and two sisters, Judy (Joe) Germinaro and Susan (Dennis) Gunderson.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Strangberg; a sister, Sue Lynn Schumacher; and his step-mother, Alice Schumacher.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 6th, at Proko Funeral Home, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Facial coverings and social distancing are required for those attending.
