Loretta Matera, 102, of Kenosha, WI, passed away at Cedarhurst Senior Living on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
Born in Kenosha, WI on April 26, 1921; she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Filomena Stella. She attended local schools and graduated with her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii and past President of the Holy Rosary Society. She loved to listen to her audio books, watch game shows, travel around the world, and go to the theatre. She was an amazing cook and baker and had the best banana cream pie. She always had a great looking yard and loved to decorate the most during Christmas time.
Loretta is survived by daughter, Janice (Scott) Oldach; grandchildren, John (Wendy) Matera and Bryan (Kelly) Matera, Nathaniel Oldach, Matthew Oldach, and Danielle Matera; great-grandchildren, Max Matera, Nicolas Matera, and Rylee Pearson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, Alan Matera, and Donald Matera, and eight siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance or Tremper Baseball would be appreciated by the family.
