Giovannina Apostoli, age 92, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Propezzano, Italy on August 26, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Anna (Ventura) Bracci.
On September 20, 1952, she married, the late Domenico Apostoli, in Italy. They moved to Kenosha in 1971.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Giovannina shared her passion for cooking while working at the Italian American Club, Saturno’s Restaurant, and preparing pasta for special occasions at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She also enjoyed working with ceramics and pottery. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Giovannina is survived by her five children, Ida Apostoli, Anthony (Wendy) Apostoli, Pio (Julie) Apostoli, Fabrizio (Kim) Apostoli, and Mauro (Karen) Apostoli; ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, and brother, Giovanni (Ernesta) Bracci.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Aliano and Bibiana.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Prayers will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 9:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum, Pleasant Prairie, WI.
