Roy Isaac Sherod, age 63, of Kenosha, entered eternal rest on October 29, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center. He was born to the late George and Gertrude (Isaac) Sherod on May 25, 1960, in Harlem, New York.
He enlisted into the U.S. Army on June 8, 1978, where he was stationed at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. Roy was honorably discharged on June 7, 1982. While serving, he earned the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and Marksman Badge. After he was honorably discharged, Roy went on to attend DeVry University where he met Roslyn Curney. On July 15, 1995, the two married on “The Interlude” on the waters of Lake Michigan in Chicago, Illinois.
Later, Roy worked for many years as a quality inspector at Whirlpool and Insinkerator. Roy lived in Germany many years and traveled across Europe.
Roy is survived by his best friend and wife, Roslyn; children, Tyrone, age 35, of Berlin, Germany, Jeremey, age 33, of Berlin, Germany, and Ryan, age 20, of Kenosha; sisters, Joan Sherod Winter (RN), married to Glen Winter (M.D.), and Sherrie Sherod Benjamin (RN); and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Wayne Sherod (PHD).
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. at Proko Funeral Home.
