Beth “Heidi” Ann Hansen, 61, of Horicon, WI, formerly of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam, WI.
Born in Shawano, WI, on July 14, 1962, she was the daughter of Richard Clyde and Ida Gwendolyn (Conto) Hansen. She attended school in Kenosha, WI, and joined a local church in Horicon, WI. Heidi was employed by John Deere.
Heidi always liked to be silly and could make people smile on their worst days. Despite whatever was going on in her own life, she loved others deeply and always went out of her way to make everyone she met feel important and gave selflessly. She especially loved time with her family, kids, and grandkids and would engage like a big kid herself.
She was an excellent gymnast who was invited to the Junior Olympics in her youth. If she wasn’t crafting you a crochet item or cooking you the best steak and lobster you ever tasted, she’d be singing you a song very loudly and completely out of tune. Growing up, Heidi loved to watch creature features with her sisters and brother followed later in life by old time tv like “All in the Family” and “Andy Griffith” if her favorite “Criminal Minds” wasn’t on. You’d find her loyally tuned in while her cat Poppy whom she treated like her baby sat in her lap. Somehow lady bugs always found her, even in the dead of winter, and will forever be a reminder of her life.
Heidi was a member of the Joseph Project where Pastor Jerome Smith transformed her life in many great ways that her family will forever be grateful for. Through this endeavor, she became friends with Senator Ron Jonson and others in his office. Most important of all, Heidi was a child of God who despite her afflictions, always called out to Him; and that provides great comfort that one day she will be reunited with her loved ones with an out of tune song, a silly joke, a warm hug, a perfect cartwheel, a handmade craft, and a delicious meal and we will all praise the Lord in gratitude together forever in heaven. “He will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them; He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away.”
She is survived by her two loving children, Sara (Jeremy) Olson, and Christopher (Selina Meekma) Hansen; her five grandchildren; Alanah Olson, Abigail Olson, Anthony Olson, Nathaniel Hansen, and Charlotte Meekma; her father, Richard Clyde Hansen; and two sisters, Kathy Hansen, and Tammy Watts.
Heidi was preceded in death by her mother; her son, Michael Hansen; her brothers, Richard Hansen, and Ricky Rossa; and her companion and father of her children, Joe Ramirez.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Proko Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
