Idabelle Gladys (Horne) Andersen received her wings on Friday, November 10th, 2023. She was born on August 15th, 1932, the only daughter of Melvin and Agnes Horne. Ida grew up in Lisbon Wisconsin and various other towns in Wisconsin. She had 10 brothers who she dearly loved.
At an early age Ida left home and ended up in Kenosha Wisconsin where she met and married her dear husband, the late Leroy Andersen. She worked hard all her life, first as a waitress at Dutch Maid and later at Midtown Bar and Restaurant.
When her children were teenagers, she followed her dream and earned her nursing license. She worked at the Kenosha hospitals and various nursing homes for several years before retiring to take care of her grandchildren.
Ida was never seen without a child or two in tow. She loved fishing from her “little boat” at her cabin in Eagle River Wisconsin, she loved to cook and bake always looking for new recipes to try. She loved teaching her grandkids to bake and frosting Christmas cookies together was a family tradition.
Ida loved people, visitors were always welcome in her home, sometimes staying for weeks at a time! She attended Kenosha Family Church and had many special friends there. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
Ida is survived by her daughter June Bajorek, son Joel Andersen, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren all of Kenosha, her brother David (Marybeth) Horne of Sussex Wisconsin, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Melivn and Agnes Horne, her beloved husband Leroy Andersen, her 9 brothers and her daughter in law Jennifer.
