Shirley Dworak, age 84, passed away at her residence on Friday, December 8, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 21, 1939 in Land O’ Lakes, WI, to the late Eugene and Esther (Seeley) LaBrecque. She graduated from Watersmeet High School in Watersmeet, MI.
On September 26, 1959, she was united in marriage to Ardell Dworak at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Sadly, he passed away on August 17, 2014. For nearly 55 years, they enjoyed spending as much time as possible together, their home was filled with lots of love.
Since 1978, Shirley worked as an Avon Representative. Shirley loved the friendships and personal contacts she made with her customers, many of whom became her dear friends.
She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, for over 40 years and was heavily involved with the annual church festival. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, for over 24 years, volunteering in the treasury department for the parish.
Shirley was inducted into the Kenosha United Sates Bowling Congress (USBC), Woman’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame (June 2010), she was the Director of the Kenosha Women’s Bowling Association (1994-2009). She was especially influential on the Scholarship and Ways and Means and Hall of Fame Committee’s, President of the Kenosha Westside Stars League (Saturday Good Times League) for 5 years. She won the 1998 Mother/Daughter Bowling Title with her daughter, Laure. She also won the Senior Team Bowling Titles in 2004 and 2008. Shirley was a member of the local, state and National Bowling 300 Clubs, volunteered at the Shalom Center for approximately 30 years, long-time member of the Kenosha Bowman and a 26 year member of the Moose Club.
She enjoyed bowling, especially traveling across the country for National Bowling Tournaments. She also liked archery, bingo and gambling. On her bucket list; Shirley traveled to the Holy Lands with her dear friends, Joe and Edith Robinson, Sr.; but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her four children; Ardell (Kim Most) Dworak, Jr., Laure (Joe) Robinson, Jr., Connie (Dave) Rus and Denise Matel; her grandchildren, Zachary Robinson, Ryan (Angie LaSourd) Robinson, Samantha (Sean) Thomas, Jessica Dworak, Rue Dot Ether, Evan Matel, Michael Dunn Rus, Zoe Rus and Mya Rus; her great grandchildren, Braxon Robinson and Beckett Robinson and numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
In addition to her parents, and her husband Ardell J. Dworak, Sr.; Shirley was preceded by her siblings, Gerald Moeller, Arthur Moeller, Richard (Dick) Moeller, Hazel (Moeller) Smith, Viola (Moeller) Romano, James Moeller, Mildred (Moeller) Hazen, Marge (Moeller) Madsen and Clifford LaBrecque and her beloved pets; Poncho, Freeway, Buddy and Cricket.

Funeral services honoring Shirley’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54 St.
Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
A visitation for Shirley will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home.
