Joe Barron Ramirez, Jr., 61, lovingly known as “G-Joe”, was born into eternal life on Saturday, January 6, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family, after a courageous battle with a brief illness.
He was born on September 27,1962 to Joe and Lupe Ramirez in Austin, Texas. The family moved to Kenosha, WI where Joe graduated from Tremper High School, going on to attend UW- Parkside. Soon after, he left the area to work as an Offshore Oil Rigger in Louisiana. Later returning to Kenosha where he worked as a welder.
G-Joe was an avid Milwaukee Bucks, Texas Longhorns, and Dallas Cowboys fan. Those who knew G-Joe will tell you he LOVED the Dallas Cowboys. They were not only America’s team; they were G-Joe’s team! One of Joe and Wendy’s favorite memories was taking a trip with family and friends to Ford Field in Detroit, MI to watch the Dallas Cowboys play.
During football season Joe could always be found on the sidelines cheering on Marcus, whether he was playing for Kenosha Christian Life Eagles or one of his CYC Football teams. Joe’s love for Marcus was immeasurable, he was his entire world. Joe was the most proud Father, his smile lighting up the world as he talked about him. Oftentimes commenting that Marcus was his greatest accomplishment in life. The best parts of Joe will live on forever through Marcus.
Marcus recalls his Dad’s love of Harry Potter marathons and growing up playing X-Box games with him and his friends, like Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, and Madden NFL, with G-Joe always picking the Dallas Cowboys as his team. G-Joe had a loving manner and a special way about him. He was a big kid at heart, befriending all of the neighborhood kids. His sense of humor, infectious smile, and trademark laughter were truly one of a kind, and will be remembered and missed for years to come. G-Joe was a friend like no other, his bravery, loyalty, and courage led him on many adventures in life.
