Kathleen Evelyn England, 85, of Kenosha, WI passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Ridgewood Care Center, Racine, WI.
Born to the late Leo and Bernice Moran, in Burlington, WI, on April 21, 1938, she was raised by the late Clarence and Evelyn Haase, her aunt and uncle. She married the love of her life Howard England on May 4, 1957, at St. James Catholic Church, Kenosha WI. Howie and Cookie remained happily married until his death, July 5, 2012.
After graduating from Bradford High School, Kathleen worked at the Kenosha News until the birth of her first child. She loved helping with children’s school functions, especially hot dog days. She also taught speech and reading to students that needed her help and was involved in Christian Mothers through St. Marks. In her free time, she would go bowling with her friendly neighborhood league, but her true passionate hobbies were cooking, collecting any recipe she could, and reading.
Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth (Lanny) Morrison, Richmond, IL, and Judith (Stephen) Hanlon, Pleasant Prairie, WI; Grandchildren, Michael (Sara) Darre, Stephanie (Gregory) Roberts, Ashley Slater; Great-Grandchildren, Sahvannah, Bryce, and Jackson; Sisters, Marilyn Vynialek and Patricia (Robert) Anderson; step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
In addition to her parents and her uncle and aunt, Kathleen was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Bryant and brothers Wayne Moran and Richard Moran.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7117 14th Ave. Kenosha, WI 53143. A Mass of Christian Burial will conclude visitation, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will immediately follow at All Saints Cemetery & Mausoleum.
