Patricia “Patsy” A. Fields, 82, passed away peacefully at Aurora Hospital Kenosha, WI on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
Born on August 8, 1941 in Chicago, IL she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Cecelia Fields.
Patricia graduated from the Carter H. Harrison Technical High School in 1959. Shortly after, when her parents wouldn’t sign off on her wish to join the Women’s Marine Corp., “Patsy” came to Kenosha for a two-week vacation at the home of her late grandparents George and Mary Kolnik; she never went back to Chicago. She always joked that she was still on her vacation.
Patricia was a computer operator at the Great Lakes Naval base for 19 years and 9 months before the operation was moved to Florida. Just short of her full retirement, she worked at Twin Disc as a security officer in the 1990s.
She loved animals, gardening and everything about nature and spent much of her life raising pets of all kinds including her chickens Henny & Penny and Daisy and Donald her mallard ducks. Over the years she enjoyed the companionship of many fur babies including Robert, Rowdy, Cinder, Buffy, Penny, Smoky, Lilly, Peppie & Mr. Rabbit. Her garden was a showcase and included many plants handed down from her grandparents.
In addition to her parents & grandparents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Arthur (Alice) Fields Jr. and John (Toni) Fields, her nephews John and Michael Fields, and many friends.
She will be dearly missed by her cousins John Kolnik of Kenosha, Anthony (Teresa) Kolnik of Helena, MT and Joseph (Vicky) Kolnik of Kenosha as well as her “adopted” Kenosha family including Ken & Jane Stich and her godchildren Ginny (Keith) Easter, their children & grandchildren and Joe (Kim) Stich as well as their children, especially their daughter Ashley whom she called her hero.
