Lois J. Hughes, 89, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away with her loving family by her side, Monday, April 8, 2024 at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House.
She was born on December 23, 1934 to the late Robert and Ella (Petersen) Hughes in Kenosha. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.
Lois was in sales and a bookkeeper for Herbert Jewelers for 29 years, retiring in 2005.
Lois was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church.
Lois enjoyed bowling and traveling to Las Vegas, Reno and Green Bay for tournaments, and was on several bowling leagues from 1953 to 2007. She enjoyed traveling to Alaska with her sister and her family. Lois loved going to breakfast and lunch with her family and friends.
Lois is survived by her sister Shirley Gosselin, her sister-in-law Helen Hughes, 18 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Lawrence, Robert and James and a sister Carol Freeman.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Lois will be held on Friday, April 12th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church (7117 – 14th Ave.). Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the Church.
