Joseph Michael Buratti Jr., age 92, a lifelong resident of Kenosha, passed away at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, on April 6th, 2024. He was born on September 17th, 1931, in Kenosha, to the late Joseph Buratti Sr., and Rosaria (Toppi). He attended local schools and graduated from Bradford High School class of 1950. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict.
Joseph owned and operated Buratti’s Lounge in various locations around Kenosha for many years. He was well known and liked by all who knew him. He loved watching sports, doing puzzles, taking rides around town, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his partner of 36 years: Sandra Hughes, children: Mark Buratti, Vanessa Johnson, grandchildren: Nicholas Buratti, Madeleine Buratti, Ashleigh Meinen (Ryan), Brittany Herin (Trevor), Haley Johnson, great grandchildren: Easton Meinen, Emerysn Meinen, Trevor Herin II, and Monroe Herin, as well as many other living relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, son in law: Bruce A. Johnson, and siblings: Peter Buratti, Don Buratti, Inez Camosy, Elsie Bieneman, Mary Jane Brown, and Fran Semrau.
Inurnment at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove will take place privately at a later date.
