Branko Radovic, 87, of Kenosha, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
He was born January 3, 1937 in Brekovo Serbia, son of late Bogdan and Stojanka (Boskovic) Radovic. He moved to America in 1962 and spent his life dedicated to family, kumovi, and friends. Branko was given a gift late in life when he met Milesa, and they were able to build a wonderful life together. He was a devoted husband, selfless father, a loving and active grandfather and a good man who led with honesty and integrity.
Branko’s biggest passion was for the Serbian church and the Serbian people. He spent countless hours working at the New Gracanica Monastery in Third Lake, Illinois. For those that knew him, felt his generous spirit and love for the work he contributed to the Monastery. He was especially committed to the KSS and worked alongside Milesa and the sisters in the kitchen. He was famous for making the best sarma, podvarak and keeping the Serbian traditions alive. When sister Mira called for help, he would always show up early and stay late. Nothing could hold him back from helping wherever he was needed. He would often say that when he passed through the monastery gates, any tiredness he might have felt was overtaken by strength.
He will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Milesa; seven adoring grandchildren Nikola and Kalina Winslow, Stefan Cvorovic, Jasmina and Katarina Radovic, and Mila and Luka Radovic and his loving family Milan (Natasha), Miodrag – Bato (Kristina), Branko (Borka), Dusica Cvorovic and Tom Winslow. He is further survived by his sister and extended family in Serbia. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 10:00am at the New Gracanica Monastery, Opela service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at New Gracanica Serbian Orthodox Cemetery. Please join us to share warm memories and lunch at the Monastery Hall after the funeral.
