James R. Galvin, age 80 of Kenosha died on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Hospice Alliance’s Hospice House.
Born on March 19, 1944, in Milwaukee, he was the son of the late James and Dorothy (Schroeder) Galvin. Jim attended Bradford High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany.
On September 18, 2004, he married Dorothy “Gayle” Smith.
For many years, Jim was employed with SC Johnson/Johnson Wax. He retired from the engineering department of Ocenco.
In his earlier years, Jim bowled on the Wednesday night bowling league at Sheridan Lanes. Jim loved golfing, horse racing, card playing and trips to Las Vegas. Jim enjoyed the times he spent with family and friends having cocktails.
Jim is survived by his wife, Gayle Galvin; two sons, Brian and James Galvin; grandson, Michael (Mackenzie) Galvin; grandchildren, Derrick James and Phoebe Rose; brother and best friend, Danny (Julie Ruhle) Galvin; sister, Cathy (Greg) Wildman; brother, Shawn Galvin and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol (Paul) Antaramian.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
