Evelyn Ruth Dibble (nee Christopherson) was born on February 11, 1935, and passed from our lives on May 11, 2024. Dick and Evie married on April 24, 1954, and went on to welcome eight daughters. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Joshua, Kelley, Krystal, Audre, Austin, Emma, and Colton. In addition, she has seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evie is predeceased by husband Richard Dibble (Dick), daughter Sandy, and grandson Thomas Delany III.
Evelyn was born to Katherine (Smartz) and Henry Christopherson, both deceased, and into a family with five siblings, all deceased, sister Betty, and brothers John, Robert, Henry, and McArthur.
Evie created magical holidays and home life for her family, and all of the girls remember the excitement and special feelings she wove around the family for every holiday. A wonderful cook and baker, her girls looked forward to meals and especially baked goods during the holidays. Homemade ravioli! Cookies, cakes, pumpkin bread and pie! She had a great sense of fun and humor. The family really enjoyed her sharp humor and enjoyment of life. Evie was an athletic woman who played softball for Kmart at the catcher position! Had a 600-point game in bowling! She loved golf and played it for 40 years and watched golf for more than 50 years! She was very knowledgeable not only about the game, but also the players for all of those years. She loved animals, especially Sassy, her orange tabby. She loved the Packers and taught herself to understand the game early in her midlife and ultimately knew more that Dick about the game! She was an outstanding resource to explain the plays, coaches and players. Eventually she would only watch the game by herself, as she explains, I want to yell at the tv alone!
A private family celebration will take place later. She was beloved by her girls and all other family, who will miss her dearly. Cards of condolence may be sent to Rebecca Dibble, c/o Lee Mechanical, 9909 S. 57th Street, Franklin, WI 53132
