Roy Kay Hogan Sr., age 78, of Zion, IL, passed away on June 13th, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. He was born in Indiana to the late Earl Hogan and Katherine (Wininger) on December 28th, 1945. On March 4th, 2006, he married Martha Kline and stayed married until the time of his death.
He worked as a mechanic for Volkswagen and a driver for North Chicago Cab Company both for many years. At the time of his death, he was retired for over 15 years. He loved metal detecting, traveling, and woodworking. Roy was also a huge NASCAR fan and never missed any of the races.
He is survived by his wife Martha Hogan, children: Roy (Ivone) Hogan Jr., Brian (Nubia) Hogan, Kathy (Hector) Barrera, Tammy Hogan, and Cheryl (Antonio) Mini, Charles and Stacy Castellanos, Ricky and Karlene Castellanos, and Barbara and Jeff Wilson 21 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, a sister: Jennie (Brad) Adams and many living relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Arthur Hogan, Roger Hogan, Earl Hogan, and Essie Ping.
As per the family’s wishes, services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent directly to the funeral home and will be forwarded to the family.
