Marilyn R. Tercek, age 96 a resident of Kenosha, died Thursday August 8, 2024, at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House.
Born on August 29th, 1927 in Galesburg, IL, she was the daughter of the late John and Violet (Jacobson) Lambie.
On February 19th, 1955, she married Frank Tercek in Galesburg, IL. He preceded her in death in 1996.
She worked for many years as an office manager at Prudential Insurance Company, retiring in 1991 after 35 years of service. She remained a member of the Prudential Old Guard in her retirement.
She was a faithful member of St. Therese Catholic Church and was active in the Catholic Women’s Club. She was a frequent visitor to the Kenosha Senior Center. She served as a volunteer with United Hospital Systems in the Spiritual Care Department and the research library, as well as the Visiting Nurse Association. Marilyn loved bowling, golfing and bridge, and any game that involved friendly competition and laughter. She was a member of the Bristol Oaks Golf League back in the day. She was also a huge Wisconsin fan and enjoyed watching Badger football, women’s volleyball and men’s basketball. Marilyn also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers.
She is survived by her son Frank (Jody) Tercek; two daughters Mary Tercek (Frank Spilotro) and Elizabeth (John Meyer) Tercek; three grandchildren Justin Tercek, Jacob Tercek, Zachary Tercek, and three great grandchildren Lainey Tercek, Sebastian Tercek and Zelda Tercek. She is also survived by five loving nieces. Marilyn loved her cat, Molly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Dorothy Avery, from Lexington Kentucky, and two sisters-in-law from Houston TX, Angela Schroeder and Mary Price.
The family would like to thank Hospice Alliance, especially Julie and Aleasha, for their outstanding care and compassion for Marilyn. Also, thank you to “the two Nancys” from Right at Home Services.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday August 14th, 2024, at 11:00AM at St. Therese Catholic Church. (202-91st Street, Kenosha WI) Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of mass. Interment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery. Memorials would be appreciated to either St. Therese Catholic Church, Hospice Alliance, St. Jude’s or the Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee WI.
