Roxanna Salazar, 45, of Racine, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. This day embarked both a celebration of her life and a heartbreaking milestone in her courageous battle against ovarian cancer.
Born on August 14, 1979, in Kenosha, WI, Roxanna was the beloved daughter of Armando and Juanita (Evangelista) Olivares. She displayed a passion for learning, leading her to pursue an education at Gateway Technical College, where she earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She went on to build a fulfilling career at MTI Motions, where her dedication and skills shined brightly.
Roxanna’s greatest joy was her family. She was an active and loving grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. Whether shopping for the perfect gift or embarking on new travel adventures, Roxanna was always eager to create lasting memories with her loved ones. Her fight with ovarian cancer was a testament to her incredible strength and resilience.
Roxanna is survived by her fiancé, Matthew Sellers; her beloved children, Roxie-Renee Valdez, Lexxie Mercedes Valdez, Stacie Lee Valdez, and Olivia Garza; and her cherished grandchildren, Lavay Lott, Angel Body, Avery – Roxanna Body, Tania -Renee Wesley, Heather Belleza Valdez, Juanito Valdez, and Cortez Ozai Harris. She is also survived by her siblings, Samantha Olivares, Sergio Garcia, Rubie (Luis) Rojas, Robert Bosner, and Stevie Bosner.
Roxanna preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Olivares; her brother, Ismael Samuel Olivares; and her grandparents.
A memorial visitation to honor Roxanna’s life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Proko Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., followed by a private interment.
