John Angelo Stancato III of Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 1st, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born in Kenosha on December 12th, 1955, the son of John and Lucille. John graduated from Tremper High School in 1974. He would go on to receive an automotive repair degree from Gateway Technical College in Kenosha. Following his auto repair career was a position at the Wisconsin Electric Power Company. He was a decorated member of the Wisconsin National Guard and was awarded Soldier of the Year during his service there. He would ultimately become a carpenter, building several homes, including his own, and fixing many more along the way. John was a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a prolific member of the St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church.
John enjoyed classic cars. His passion for the 1940 Ford pickup inspired him to pursue the hobby and build his first truck in the late ‘90s. He would build many more, crafting friendship and tradition along the way. His desire to be of service to others was a cornerstone of his character, and a quality that will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Julie; mother Lucille (Vincent) Mancuso; siblings, Therese (John) Kavalauskas, Joseph (Nancy) Stancato, and Annette (Greg) Scarlato; his children Donald, Daniel, and Elizabeth, Jason, Jennifer, Jamison (Cassandra) Sr., and Jacob (Jennifer); a grandson, Maximilian, Hailey, Michael Jr., Jamison Jr., Ellianna, Lian, and Maverick; and many nephews and cousins. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Joseph (Nancy) Ludwig and Robert (Diane) Ludwig and a sister-in-law Susan (John Rocco) Buccella.
A Mass of Christian Burial for John will be held on Friday, September 6th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church (2020 – 91st St.). Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Visitation for John will be held on Friday from 12:00 pm (Noon) until the time of Mass at the church. As per John’s wishes please omit flowers.
