David Belsheim passed away on September 5th 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 74 years old.
David was born in Ventura California to loving parents Harold and Loretta (nee Lehman) Belsheim. David grew up in the St. Louis area, and during childhood he spent summers on relative’s farms in Iowa. David attended Seminary, but ultimately switched paths and earned his PHD from the University of Illinois in Adult Education.
In 1992 David married the love of his life, Leslie, in Jamaica, and the two of them raised their sons in Saint Charles, IL. Leslie and David relocated to their beach house in Pleasant Prairie, WI in 2020.
David had many hobbies and interests including sailing, tennis, hiking, biking, motorcycling, classic American muscle cars, and all things outdoors. He sailed often in Lake Michigan, even sailing across several times, He also enjoyed a few sailing adventures in the Caribbean.
Above all, David was a very kind person and put family first. He, Leslie, and their sons enjoyed many adventures together.
David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Belshiem.
He is survived by his wife Leslie, his sons Michael Belsheim (Bali, Indonesia) and Jonathan Belsheim (St. Louis, Missouri).
A private burial will be on September 12. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 29th at Kemper Center (6501 3rd ave, Kenosha). Visitation will be from 11am till noon, and a prayer service will be held at noon. All are welcome to share in celebrating David’s life.
