Donna Mae Covelli, 82, of Kenosha, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters on October 9, 2024, at Grande Prairie Care and Rehab in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Donna was born May 5, 1942, in Kenosha, WI to the late Anthony and Rose (DiCello) Ruffalo. She graduated from Bradford High School in 1960. Donna married Umile Covelli on July 20, 1963, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii Parish Catholic Church.
In the 1960s, Donna worked in the insurance claims and billing department at St. Catherine’s Hospital. She left the workforce to become a devoted stay-at-home mom where she spent her time lovingly raising her three daughters. In the 1990s, she returned to work part time in food services at Bullen and Lance Junior High Schools.
In her younger years, Donna enjoyed playing baseball, golf, and had a passion for ice-skating. She spent countless hours with her siblings and cousins, and fondly recalled attending Bradford High School football games with friends and scooping the loop with her boyfriend, who later became her husband.
Donna loved baking, gardening, reading, listening to music, and watching movies and musicals. Her love for family was evident in every aspect throughout her life. She was a fiercely devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her presence in our lives will be missed beyond measure.
Donna is survived by her children, Lanise (Tom) Patrizzi, Wendy (Eric) Cima, and Donna (Lewis) Zanon; granddaughter, Abigail Cima; siblings, Rosemary (Jerry Sr.) Slagoski, Anthony (Barbara Karabetsos) Ruffalo and three nephews, Jerry Jr., Terry Jr., and Jimmy.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Umile Covelli, a sister, Carol Davis and brother-in-law, Terry Davis, Sr.
Visitation for Donna will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Proko Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii Parish at 11:00 a.m. with interment at St. George Cemetery.
